July 24th was a very special night. Ernie Haase, along with Signature Sound members Doug Anderson, Tim Duncan, Devin McGlamery and Wayne Haun, took the stage at Anderson University’s Reardon Auditorium to offer up a moving musical tribute to the quartet that has inspired and influenced their music more than any other…The Cathedrals.

With a breathtaking set, a electrifying audience of supporters, an inspiring line-up of Cathedrals songs and many wonderful photos, footage and memories of the Cathedrals, Ernie and Signature Sound honored their legacy and gave new appreciation to some of the greatest quartet favorites ever written. Bill Gaither and quartet great, Squire Parsons, also participated in the evening and added some of their own fond memories of George Younce, Glen Payne, and other fine artists who were a part of the Cathedrals’ legacy.

Members of the Payne family, the Younce family, and Roger Bennett’s family added a great deal to the evening simply by their presence. The evening honored their loved ones, and they honored Ernie and Signature Sound by being there and remember these fine men and their incredible contribution to gospel music.

The DVD of this indescribable Cathedrals Tribute is set to release on October 26, so you will learn much more about it in the coming weeks. Many cameras were there, to capture the essence of this very special evening, so we will have many wonderful photos to share with you over the next few weeks, but here are just a few shots taken by our Gaither.com camera, both backstage and from the audience to give you a quick glimpse of the night.
