Pigeon Forge, TN - Popular multi-award winning male vocalist, Ivan Parker, was honored last week at the SGM Fan Awards with the 2009 Soloist of the Year Award. The SGM Fan Awards were presented on Thursday, March 19 at the Smoky Mountain Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, TN, during the annual SGM FanFair. The ceremony is sponsored by the Christian Voice Magazine. The SGM Fan Awards were established to honor Gospel Music legends, acknowledge accomplishments and recognize fan favorites within the Southern Gospel Music industry. This year marked the 5th annual presentation of the Awards. It is with sincere heart and humble honor that I accept the Soloist of the Year honor from the SGM Fan Awards and the Christian Voice Magazine, Parker stated. To realize that the fans enjoy what I do is wonderful, but to know that lives are changed is the greatest reward of all.

 

Parker is recognized as one of Southern Gospel Musics leading vocalists. Traveling with popular quartet, Gold City, for more than a decade, the talented lead singer helped lead the group to national notoriety, achieving 19 Top Ten hits, including the 1993 Southern Gospel Song of the Year Dove Award from the Gospel Music Association. Since embarking upon a solo career in 1994, Parker has continued to enjoy prominence and much success with more than a dozen Fan Awards to his credit. Hit songs have flowed his way in bunches, including the Number One hit, I Choose, which peaked at the Number One position atop The Singing News Magazines Top 80 Radio Airplay Chart. Parkers current national release, Ill Do The Miracle, sits in the Top 5 on The Singing News Magazines Top 80 National Radio Chart.
