Gaither Music Artists Honored with Nine GMA Dove Award Nominations
On Friday, February 20, the Gospel Music Association released this year's nominees for the Christian music industry's highest honor, the Dove Awards. Gaither Music Group congratulates the following 2009 nominees from our roster of artists who garnered a total of nine (9) GMA Dove Award nominations this year! Congratulations to these talented artists, and many thanks to everyone behind the scenes who helped create musical projects that are recognized among the other excellent nominees!David Phelps and Ernie Haase were both nominated in the category of Male Vocalist of the Year, and Ernie Haase & Signature Sound received a nomination for Group of the Year.

"Jesus And John Wayne" received a nomination in the category of Country Recorded Song of the Year, recorded on the GRAMMY winning CD, Lovin' Life by the Gaither Vocal Band. (Songwriters: Gloria Gaither, William J. Gaither, Doug Johnson, Kim Williams, Benjamin Gaither.)

A Long Form Video nomination went to Country Bluegrass Homecoming Volume One DVD (Doug Stuckey, Director and Bill Gaither, Producer.) And the DVD's accompanying audio release received a nomination for Special Event Album. Winners will be announced at the 40th Annual GMA Dove Awards on April 23, 2009 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Dove Award Ceremony will be broadcast live nationwide on the Gospel Music Channel from 8-10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Thursday, April 23, 2009.
