The Lily Isaacs Story

February 20, 2008 12:45PM

Wow The Isaacs have been so busy. Our weekends have been filled with lots of travel and some great services along the way. We just came off the Ft. Worth Gaither weekend. We had a great time there meeting lots of new fans and visiting with old ones.
We wanted to let you know about a great article that was written by Will Hall and released on the Baptist Press website on Monday about Lily. We think he did a great job with the interview and article. The content is just a sample of what you'll read about in Lily's book that we hope will be out sometime this spring or summer. You can access the article here: www.sbcbaptistpress.org/bpnews.asp?id=27437

We hope you're having a great February and we hope to see you at one of our concerts soon!

We Love You,
The Isaacs

Hello from the Isaacs

August 29, 2007 07:52PM

Greetings Friends!
It's been way too long since we blogged so here goes......
We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer. Ours has been great, very busy, but great. Our bus has been keeping the roads hot. We've just hired a new banjo/guitar player. His name is Troy Engle (T-ROY is his nickname). He started with us on Aug. 24th. He is doing a great job. Say Hello to him when you see us on the road. John Bowman has been filling in for us for a few weeks while we held auditions for the new person. John was anxious to get in his classroom where he's teaching 4th and 5th grade this year. Come out to see us in concert when you can. We have our schedule posted on our website through the end of November. (www.theisaacs.com) Speaking of November....we are headed back to South Africa to do a couple of concerts. One will be in Cape Town and the other in Johannesburg. We're looking forward to that.
Please keep us in your prayers as we travel.
We Love you All!!
Blessings
The Isaacs

The Netherlands, Holland and Germany at the concentration camp where.....

June 21, 2007 09:43PM

Hello from the Netherlands!

I'm sorry I havent been able to send a blog update lately, but this is the first time we've had internet access since we came to Holland on Sunday.

Its Friday night. We're sitting in a sweet, candlelit restaurant in Zelhem, Netherlands and somehow I have managed to get online.. so, I will write to you all instead of eating dessert... ok, maybe I'll eat some ice cream while I type...lol.

Our journey thru Holland has been great thus far. We had a few days of rest and sightseeing and our first concert was Tuesday night in Bodegraven at a quaint, beautiful theatre. We had a lively, loving crowd, and a very spiritual service. It was refreshing!

We have seen some amazing things since our arrival! Our hostess Iris and her husband Ron have been so gracious... there is so much to tell you, but in short for now, we have accomplished alot. We visited the fascinating Anne Frank Museum, the famous "hiding place" at the Corrie ten Boom house, and the busy city of Amsterdam. One of our favorite stops was at "Pierre's Chocolate Factory", where we all got to make our own chocolate.. mmm.

Today, however, was historical for the Isaacs family. This morning we woke early, left the cottage at 7:30am... and travelled 5 hours into Germany. A long ride for only a 3 hour visit, but we couldnt pass up the opportunity to visit this place. Our hearts and eyes were filled as we approached the "Bergen-Belson Memorial". This was the concentration camp where Grandma Faye was held captive for 2 years. We walked in silence thru the memorial, then thru the cemetary where so many Jews were buried in mass quantities, and we wept when we were taken to the railroad ramp where our dear Grandmother, and so many others deboarded when the Nazis delivered them to Bergen- Belson camp. I wish you could know how proud we felt to be the descendants of such brave, strong people. We thanked God for our heritage and for his blessings on our family. I cant even tell you in such a short time what we felt and how we were and will forever be touched.

We have one more concert on Saturday here in Zelhem before flying back to the US on Sunday. While we have had an amazing trip, we are missing our homes and families, and look forward to our evening arrival.

Thank you for all your prayers and for keeping up with us. I will write more soon...

Peace and Love,
Sonya and the family.

+++ In Holland, they primarily speak Dutch, so the word for the day is "Tot Ziens", That means goodbye... ++++++

Tot Ziens!
